The #1 Earning Page on the SPI Blog

Hi!

How are you? I hope all is well!

I just wanted to give you a quick tip today, which is something that I use on my own blog that is a win for you because it will help you make extra money, and a win for your readers because you'll be helping them out too.

What is it?

A resource or tools page.

It's totally underused in the online and blogging world (in my opinion), but it totally rocks.
As you can see, a resource page is simply a page (not a post), on your blog or website that has links to things that are useful for you and your readers in your specific niche.

On my resource page, for example, I have links to hosting companies, shopping carts, keyword research tools, books, etc. - anything an upcoming online entrepreneur might find useful.

The trick is this: about 90% of these links are affiliate links, meaning I will get paid a commission each time someone purchases or uses a service that I recommend on that page.

Each month, I see $3000+ come directly from this page alone. It's non-aggressive, because I'm not forcing anyone to view it or pitching anything like a salesmen, and people find it helpful too because everything they need is conveniently located in one spot.

So, if you haven't done so already, you should really consider creating a resource page for your site. Here are some final tips that you can take with you:

Make sure you provide an easy way to access your resource page. A link in your navigation menu/bar does the trick for me.
On the resource page itself, categorize the kinds of links you place on the page. It will make it easier to scan through, so people can get exactly what they might be looking for.
Don't forget to include your favorite books from Amazon.com. The commissions are small from these books, but you also get a piece of any other products that person buys when they are sent to Amazon from your specific link.
Don't forget to use some kind of tracking method to keep track of how many pageviews you have, and how many clicks you get for each link. You can use a tool such as http://bit.ly or http://budurl.com in order to do this.
The best products and links to place on your resource page are ones that you've actually used before, which have helped you learn something valuable that others should learn too.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this week' tip! Here's to you and your online success.

Cheers!

TEAM Up with other marketers...

Hi,

Welcome to the second issue of the "$10k Every Month" crash course!

If you like the idea of making a lot of money, but you do not like the idea of creating your own products, then -

You may want to consider affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing is when two marketers come together - one with a product and one with an audience - and they split the profits on any sales they make together. The affiliate sends traffic to the product creator's sales page, and the product creator closes the sale and gives a commission to the affiliate for every paid referral.

You can become an affiliate for nearly anything - from Dell computers to beer-making machines to books and products on sites like Amazon.

However, when you're an affiliate for physical products, you generally receive a small commission - perhaps only 5% or 10%. That means if you're selling a $100 product, you'll only get $5 or $10 for every paid referral you send to the merchant.

Important: Don't discard affiliate marketing just yet. You see, if you promote downloadable products like ebooks, you can get as much as 50%, 75% or even a full 100% commission for every product you sell!

Now imagine those sorts of commissions on a $100 product, and you can see how the money will pile up pretty quickly in your bank account!

Here's an overview of how to make your fortune with affiliate marketing:

1) Find a hungry market. Some people find a product and then go looking for a market. A better way to do it is to find a hungry market that's flush with cash first (because finding a product is the easy part).

2) Find out what this market is already buying. The easiest way to make money online is to sell what people are already buying.

3) Find suitable products. Go to Clickbank.com to browse for affiliate products that are similar to what the market is already buying. Be sure to read the products and research the merchant to make sure you're dealing with a good merchant.

4) Set up a lead-capture page. NEVER send your leads straight to the merchant's page. Instead, set up an autoresponder series and a related freebie (like a free ebook) to get all leads on your mailing list. THEN you can recommend that those on your mailing list purchase certain products.

5) Start sending traffic to your lead capture page, using pay per click marketing, search engine optimization, article marketing, blogging, social media marketing, forum marketing, viral marketing and similar strategies.

That's it! Just build a list of targeted buyers, find affiliate products that solve their problems, and recommend those products.

Just like that, you're on a path to $10,000 a month!

Allen Payne

Making Money Online - what's the BIG "secret"?

Hi ,

I don't often use the word "secret" when sharing advice about online marketing. The truth is, that word is a bit scammy to me.

But with more and more people trying their hand at internet marketing -- and EVERYONE who has a website -- the question of what's the internet marketing "secret" comes up over and over again.

Why is it that some people are successful and some people can go on for years and never make it work?

Well, I believe there are many factor that go into how successful you'll be online.

First of all, do you have the drive and belief in yourself? Many successful internet marketers declare that this is really all it takes. Tenacity, dedication, and belief in yourself. When you think about it, they could be right.

Another "secret" is being able to leverage off of the experience and knowledge of those who are successful.

Of all the ways, this is the one I believe most in. I mean, What better way to break into internet marketing than to be under the tutelage of someone who is a proven success?

There are several ways you can do this. You can sign up for some of the free material that they offer, such as videos, e-books, webinars, courses, etc.

You can pay a little more for some of their "unpersonalized" methods. Or you can get one-on-one or close to it from these people themselves. This is a great way to see what is really working in today's internet marketing world. It changes so quickly that if you are new, you could be doing things that worked years ago, but are now outdated.

Finally, do your best to avoid jumping around from one course, e-book, or program to the next will just leave you spinning your wheels in confusion.

Hope my short advice today has been helpful.

Talk to you next time.

To Your Success,
Allen Payne

Money is in the list

Hey,

I'm back in touch again this Thursday with more online marketing tips.

I'll be brief today. Let's talk about Email Marketing.

Building a list of subscribers for email marketing is one of the MOST fundamental strategies online. It is also pretty boring, so many people tend to overlook it.

In fact, building an optin list that you can market and re-market to, is a core component of any business. Whether you use GetResponse, iContact, Constant Contact or Aweber, it's an essential.

The reason is it becomes your silent-ever-present salesperson, available 24/7 365 to stay in front of people.

Much like this message right now. :)

But make sure your email followup process provides the reader with solid takeaway and value.

There's no need focusing on Facebook and Twitter when you're lacking a simple core strategy such as building your opt-in lists. In my view, your subscriber lists trumps ANYTHING and everything social media related today.

Short and sweet and hope it helps.

Talk next time.

Allen Payne

Here's Another Tip That's Kind of Like Mind-Reading...

Hey,

What's up! I hope everything is well with you lately.

If you've got a minute, I've got another great tip I'd like to share with you. It has to do with "mind-reading".

Here's what I mean:

When writing content online, whether it's for your blog, article websites, or whatever, the best thing you can do is talk about a subject that people are just dying to know about. Wouldn't it be cool if you knew exactly what people were complaining about, or needed help on, so you could be the one to give them the answers?

Of course!

Now, you're probably thinking that I'm going to say something like, "Ask your audience what they want to hear", which is definitely something you should do. But, what if you don't have an audience? Or, what if you do, but they're shy or just don't respond very much?

Then asking them won't do any good, will it? Here's my little strategy for finding out exactly what people in your niche want to know about, so when you finally publish your blog post, your articles or whatever, it will be like you're reading their minds. Here's what to do:

1. In whatever niche you're in, look for forums where people in your niche get together. The best way to do this is to go into Google and type:

forum:niche

So for example, for the fly fishing niche, you'd type in:

forum:fly fishing (make sure you type in "forum", and not "forums").

Google will give you a huge list of all the top forums in the niche, usually ordered by popularity.

2. Go into one of the forums, and look for a search tool, or a search field that will let you search for certain terms that people have written in the forum posts. Some forums allow visitors or guests to perform searches without registering, while others require you to register first.

You might as well register anyways, since it's only the place where more of your audience hangs out, right? Rocking it in a forum and becoming an authority there to feed your website is a whole different story. Anyways, I digress...

3. In the search field, type in some the following terms and see what you come up with:

"advice about"
"I hate it when"
"I need help with"
"can anyone help me"
"I'm looking for"
 "really bad"
"desperate for"
"can't find"
"have no clue"
"newbie"
"question about"
There's a number of other terms that you can search for that all fit the same kind of idea, but I think you understand what's going on here.

When you search for these terms (note: you may also have to fill out one of those spam captcha letter verification thingies too), more than likely you're going to get a series of forum threads that have someone in need of something.

...and there's your next blog post. Or, and there's your next eBook. The possibilities are endless of what you can find hidden in these forums, but if you really want to become an authority in your niche, you're going to have to give the masses exactly what they want to see, and this is one way to do it, even before you have a blog running.

When I search through the fly fishing forums, for example, here are some of the things I found:

Threads that were named:
A Newb With Some Questions
Spey / Switch Need Help
Need Advice About Sages (I don't know what sages are)
Rod Sensitivity vs. Long Casting
Questions on Building a Fly Rod
How awesome is that?

And this was just from one of the terms. Some terms may offer no results, while with others you may strike gold.

And here's a bonus tip: If the threads you find were relatively recent, you can write a blog post or article specifically addressing the need or the problem, and then go into the thread itself as a user and give a brief answer/solution, and then link to your article for more information.

That's instant (highly-targeted) traffic.

Sweet!

Well, I hope you've enjoyed this addition of "Another tip from Pat".

Wishing you all the best.

Thanks again, viet! Cheers!

TYPE your way to $10k...

Hi ,

Welcome to the first issue of the "$10k Every Month" crash course!

Here's a direct path to $10,000 monthly:

Create and sell your own information products.

Many people who are just starting out don't even realize that they have knowledge that other people would be willing and even eager to pay for - and chances are, there's a book in you that could make you rich! Maybe:

You've lost a lot of weight and could teach others to do the same. You know how to stretch the family budget. You could teach others how to create and sell crafts. You know how to get into graduate school. You know how breed and raise poodles.

The above list includes just five ideas... but the sky is the limit!

Take time to brainstorm your interests and talents, and you'll quickly discover that you know a lot about a particular topic.

So once you've figured out what to write about, what do you do next?

Below is a step-by-step overview of the entire process. Remember that most of what you see on the list below can be outsourced to competent freelancers:

1) Research the market to ensure your idea is profitable. You're goal isn't to find a market and give them a product that requires them to first be educated about why they need this product. That's the long, hard and expensive way of making money. Instead, your goal is to choose a hungry niche... and then give them a product that they're ALREADY buying.

2) Research the competition so you can develop a better product. Now, you don't want to just give your market the exact same product as the competitors are delivering to the customers. You want to make your product unique - and you want to make it better. So your next step is to research the competitors' products to discover how you can improve upon the products the market is already buying.

3) Create the product. Next, it's time to take action. Shut the ringer off on your phones, lock the door, close your email... and start typing. Start with an outline and a goal to write XXXX of words per day. Then keep typing until you finish your ebook - don't worry about editing, because you can do that once the draft is finished.

Quick Tip: If you don't like to type, then try a voice-to-text product like Dragon Naturally Speaking.

If creating the product doesn't sound like something you want to do yourself, then outsource the task.

4) Set up your website, including a lead-capture system. Next, you need to write a sales letter that sells your ebook and upload it to a web page. You'll also want to set up a squeeze page with an autoresponder as a means to get your visitors to join your newsletter list. This is important, because most people won't buy your ebook the first time they visit your site - the money is in your list!

5) Set up your backend sales system. Most people don't get rich selling just one product. Instead, they find their wealth is hidden in the backend of their business - this is where existing customers buy more products and more expensive products from you.

As such, even as you create your first product, you need to also be developing your backend sales system. You should set up various ways to contact and pitch additional products to your existing customers, such as by email, postal mail, membership site forums, blogs or even through links in the products they've already purchased.

And there you have it - the five-step path to riches.

It's not a complicated process. Indeed, you can boil it down to a few words:

Find a hungry market and give them what they want.

Heeding the advice in the last line will put you on your path to $10,000 a month

Allen Payne
